Shalom Israel

After returning from a two month trip in Israel in January, Brazilian journalist Bruno Marzzo is on a mission to show the Israeli society beyond the conflicts and wars that plague this region of the planet.

Bruno believes that the negative coverage of Israel around the world does not help to mitigate or even solve the problems, and only deepens the divide. “I intend on emphasizing the good, strengthening attitudes of Love, compassion and respect for others”, said the journalist and filmmaker that has recently launched a crowd funding campaign to raise funds to finance the cost of this new venture.

In addition to his work on photographic and advertising productions Bruno Marzzo has written more than ninety texts and articles, short stories and poems for his Blog and social media outlets.  

“It has been a difficult year, and I had to overcome new difficulties in life. I was hoping to return to Israel with my own resources, but decided to share this dream with all those who still believe that love can prevail.  “

During Brunos fifty days in Israel he will present a series of Video reports and articles on Initiates that contribute to social justice. “I will meet all kinds of different people, Jews and Arabs, young and old, from all walks of life. I intend to tell the stories of those committed to peace, and loving their neighbor. These People are my project”

The Idea to fund the project though crowd funding came from a friend. “I was a little reluctant at first” says Bruno, “But I believe that the kind of cutting edge journalism that I hope to deliver from Israel will be worth it to all those who support me”. Another reason for using crowd funding are the different languages Bruno speaks, allowing him to reach many different audiences.   

According to Bruno, operating costs for the Shalom Israel project are 40 thousand Brazilian Real, which he hopes to raise on the site. The budget consists of air fare and travel, camera equipment, lodging and food cost. “In addition to these, the amount includes a 12% commission for the site. I only wish to cover expenses” he smiles, “for 10 thousand dollars, Shalom Israel could become a reality”
