For Bia's Life | Target Medication for DIPG

My daughter Beatriz, known to us as Bia, is 10 years old and is facing one of the hardest battles a child can endure. In February 2025, she was diagnosed with DIPG, an aggressive tumor located in the brainstem.

Until recently, Bia’s condition had remained stable during treatment. However, in February 2026, the tumor showed a very rapid and extensive progression, affecting critical areas of the brainstem. The medical team has been clear with us: the situation is serious, and time is limited.

There is a medication specifically targeted to the exact mutation of Bia’s tumor. This treatment represents a real opportunity to slow the progression of the disease and, for the first time, opens the possibility of a real path toward cure. This fundraising effort aims to cover the treatment cycles of this medication, to help us sustain Bia’s treatment until we receive a formal response from the ongoing legal process.

The cost is extremely high: each box costs USD 33,000 and contains only 10 capsules. For the first three‑month treatment cycle, Bia needs four boxes.

We initiated legal action last year, but unfortunately, we did not receive a response in time. Given the aggressiveness of the tumor, doctors strongly advised us not to wait any longer. Every day truly matters. Since February, we have managed to fund seven weeks of treatment with our own resources, and the response has been positive. An MRI report dated March 30, 2026 confirms that the targeted therapy is effective for Bibi — for the first time, the tumor has regressed, giving us renewed hope and a tangible chance for a better outcome.
