Sou Tamiris Paes Souza, tenho 22 anos, e violinista.
Sinceramente,
Tamiris Paes Souza

English version:
Recently, I was awarded a full scholarship for the master's program in violin performance in Canada, and for that, I need a better instrument.
The purpose of this project is to raise money to buy a violin for my master's degree in performance, with which I can evolve and become a better performer and bring joy and peace to the people around me through music.
At the moment I have a violin with sound limitations, which makes it very difficult to prepare the demanding repertoire that is asked of me.
A little about me:
My name is Tamiris Paes Souza, I'm 22 years old, and I'm a violinist. I started studying music at the age of nine at the State Music School of São Paulo (EMESP), in 2004. In 2013, I was admitted to the Bachelor of Music Program in Violin Performance at Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP). I graduated from my undergraduate program in December 2016, with the highest grades in the class (final course average of 9.36 - GPA of 3.74 / 4.0). In addition to that, I submitted my final paper and it was approved with the highest grade possible.
Throughout my musical career, since 2012 I have played in the Youth Orchestra of the State of São Paulo, conducted by Claudio Cruz. During this time, I had the opportunity to play with great soloists like Marc Coppey, Jennifer Stumm and Ryu Goto, Washington Barella; and work with great masters such as Frank Shipway, George Stelluto, Rolf Beck, Bruno Mantovani, Guillaume Bourgogne and Vladimir Ashkenazy. In addition, over the last five years we have been invited to perform on a number of occasions, such as the Young Euro Classic, Grachten Festival, Iberian Suite Festival, Lincon Center of Performing Arts, Kennedy Center and Berlin Konzerthaus. In 2014 we were awarded in the category "Young Talent" by Concerto Magazine. We also recorded two CDs: one with Antonio Menezes and another with Cristian Budu.
In addition to my experience and opportunities in the orchestral setting, I had other solo career opportunities such as being invited to attend the Curtis Summerfest (Young Artist Program) summer program in 2015. During my participation at Curtis Summerfest I had the opportunity to have violin lessons with Ida Kavafian (Curtis and Juilliard School teacher), Jessica Lee (Rutgers University), Rebecca Harris (Philladelphia Symphony Orchestra) and Steven Copes. I was also able to join the orchestra as Spalla during the three-week program, led by Troy Peters, Adam Flatt and Paul Bryan (Curtis), as well as being part of the chamber group that performed Stravinsky's "soldier's story", septet version.
My academic and career goals include the master's degree to develop my skills as a musician and, consequently, pursue my academic career as a university professor. Likewise, I want to prepare for orchestra auditions, violin competitions and be part of a ensemble / ensemble to play chamber music.
So I can say that I'm in love with the things I do. I learn fast, I am very focused, dedicated, I love challenges, and I really try to do my best in every detail. I firmly believe that music has the power to change lives, in the social, cultural and spiritual context, serving as a means of personal expression. It changed my life and I hope to be changing the lives of the people with whom I share my art.
Recently, I was awarded a full scholarship for the master's program in performance at the University of Victoria, Canada, and for that, I need a better instrument. My current violin is a very simple violin, with many limitations. Little projection, little timbre variation, without good response in the sharp notes, and sound of a student violin. For the master's repertoire, I will need an instrument capable of responding to the stimuli and difficulties stipulated. Unfortunately, such an instrument has a cost of starting at 5 thousand dollars. At the moment, despite working as a freelance violinist, I could not afford the money to buy such an instrument, so I need your help.
Sincerely,
Tamiris Paes Souza
